If you love art, music, and especially Bubble Tea…and possibly WMDT, come through Saturday, December 3rd.

US VS THEM CAMPAIGN THE AIR WE BREATHE DESIGN COMPETITION | 2011 GRAPHIC DESIGN

Here is a project I did with Kevin Liu and Motokimi Yono for an open call design competition. The “Design Makes Change” establishment with UNIT 2 SPACES held a competition where they called designers of all magnitude. The competition is to find a solution or a platform to create a healthier standard of living in Pilsen, where there are absurd concentrations of lead and other chemicals in the air, caused by the local factories.
I contributed the storyboarding, campaign, and some graphics to this collaborative project. We also didn’t place. The images are also fake.

GIVE IT TILL IT HURTS SELF INITIATED | 2009 ADVERTISEMENT CAMPAIGN
This was an exercise for my Intro to Advertising course. This was a turning point for my approach for ads, since I was unsure of my style. I dislike the over use photos depicting starving children. It’s appropriate for photo journalism, but for fundraiser’s and such, I feel designers take the easy way out.
Adults with families have too many commitments to help with global issues outside the regular solution of funding. I wanted to create an approach targeting the college students and young adults, whom are the individuals our volunteering. By incorporating the red cross as a character, I attempted to personify the issue of neglect. I felt it was a more unfamiliar and clever approach, that hopefully use subtle satire along the way.
