About a month ago, I had explored my illustrative type forms through the project “AROUND THE WORLD.” This poster is printed around 48 inches tall and will be on display for Columbia College senior show.
If you’re available, swing by 33 East Congress for Columbia College Chicago’s 20th Annual Hokin Honors Exhibition. There will be a reception from 5-7 PM where nominated seniors will have the opportunity to share notable works.
Please come support members of the Tribe and my self!!!

BLUE WARRIOR
CTA SKETCH SERIES
ILLUSTRATION | 2010
This exercise is very much premature but at his point in 2012, it’s not right to revisit. The illustration had more thought and direction as I began to refine the subject. I only wish I put more time into it, as I began to find a purpose behind the subject.
TRIBE HAND
CTA SKETCH SERIES
ILLUSTRATION | 2010
In 2010, I began studying subconscious/spontaneous sketching. The purpose was to explore problem solving of composition and purpose when presented with an unpredicted mark. It’s almost like chiseling at random until a perspective is found.
I would jump on the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), commute to school, and begin scribbling shapes and motion. Prisma markers were then used to bleed the pen and create more depth.
This is an illustration I did a couple months ago that I finally scanned. I’ve been pursuing a series of paintings and illustrations titled “headgear.” Unintentionally, my illustrations study the history of headdresses worn by woman of various cultures. As you can see, it may not directly be a replication, but rather hints of inspirations and question.

On February 11th, my “HEADGEAR” series was featured at a showcase held by the Chicago Asian American Institute. The exhibition shared works from various Chicago Asian Americans. CHEEEEEEEE!!!
Much love and thanks to the Tribe’s homie, Kiyomi Negi-Tran and Katherine Rivera for the opportunity.
If you haven’t seen my paintings in person, they will be up the month of February at Heartland Cafe located in Roger’s Park.
Here’s a breakdown of my “HEADGEAR” series, inspired from my bike accident back in September.
The process was very much experimental in comparison to my usual works. Here’s a break down of the creation.
For those of you who don’t know, a couple weeks ago I got in a really awkward bike accident which left me unable to draw with my left hand. I was biking, got hit by an suv, went flying to hit a 69 year old, and then went flying some more and landed on my wrist.
Visit this blog I started that documents the progress of my ambidextrous ability. The work posted are all done by my other hand. It’s kind of a fun thing…

MONSTER EXPRESSION x WMDT
COLUMBIA COLLEGE CHICAGO | 2009
GRAPHIC DESIGN
BY JON REMO
Throw back from my freshman year of college. I was on an exciting clothing line project that never saw daylight. The company was called Monster Expression (M.E.) as scene in the typemark. When the project fell through I took the logo and did a self initiated collab with myself by Tribin’ it out a lil more.
I think I often find myself missin my Freshman year and how serious my people and I were trying to get down.
